In his project Hector, Vincent Van Duysen makes his debut in the world of vertical modular bookcases, created to create light and airy compositions of any length and any height, thanks to the modular elements of which they are composed, which makes the majority of the rack elements fixed between the floor and the ceiling. The Hector can be placed anywhere in the room, along a wall or in the center, thereby providing a partition suitable for separating living areas reserved for relaxation, including, thanks to a controllable TV stand, from dining areas intended for socializing, or from “ A smart workspace where laptops and tablets can be placed on shelves or in closed storage compartments with a hinged lid. The carrier is the heart of the entire system. Made of extruded aluminum, painted or wood-paneled, it can reach a height of 315 cm. Note the position of the uprights, offset from each other to create an unexpected visual effect. The racks are attached to massive wooden or extruded aluminum shelves in the form of pallets with rounded edges at the corners, the bottom of which can be glass or wood. The various combinations of possible finishes give rise to very different compositions in terms of their visual impact and pleasing shapes, transforming the Hector from a modern high-tech bookcase, in which metal and glass are hallmarks, to a traditional bookcase, where warmth dominates wood. Modular, modern and flexible.
